Back in the 80's when I had a very tall mohawk, we used elmers glue and water.
It worked and washed out just fine.
Remember, back then there wasn't a slew of hair care products like there is now.

Get some mouse, keeps your hair from looking wet
also I recomend Bed Head hair products:
Manipulator is really good - its like a wax but creamier...
Hard to Get ... pretty much same thing..
And any of their hair sprays will do it too... I do my brother's hair with this stuff... and he has THICK CURLY a s s hair.. and he is 11... boys will be boys.. but his hair stays pimp lol

lightening gel makes ur hair lighter......but maybe its the kind of gel u use that makes it look darker, mayb u should blow drye it when u finished puttin on sum gel

gel is wet so when it's in your hair it will become darker than before.
but women like dark hair on guys. (well at least me)

try mousse b/c gel makes it wet and when hair gets wet it gets darker

Use Fiber by american crew. gives you the look, and it wont look dark.
