Probably because any member of any religion or cult must, by definition, believe that they are the sole possessors of the truth. Everybody else either has a corrupted view of the truth or is just plain wrong. The only way to combat this is to demonstrate to them their "wrongness". That is usually considered offensive by the receiver. In the worst cases, people still seem to believe that they will have to kill the unbeliever in order to save his or her soul (whoops, most religions don't seem to accept that women have a soul anyway).

Who told you that it is for "spiritually minded people"?
You're being pretty presumptious and narrow-minded, kid. And most "spiritually-minded" people (particularly the religious among them) don't WANT genuine answers. They want people to agree with their false religious beliefs.
You can't have it both ways.

We all have freedom of speech. Hooray.
Ooh, thumbs down from religious fanatics who don't like others to have their say.

You're absolutely right.
But it's hard to say why people do that. I think one reason is that they are insecure in their own beliefs, and bashing others makes them feel that they have validated their beliefs.

There are few non-bigots when it comes to religion. Believers believe that they are right and that everyone else is wrong and non-believers are the most bigotted religion of all.
