Yes, someone can, what is it that you are needing clarity on? A Bible Commentary or Strongs Concordance may help answer some of your questions - here is the section you requested. Sometimes reading a different version helps clarify it some as well too. The Amplified version tends to have more synonyms added to more clearly define what the Greek or Hebrew words mean.

1 Peter 2:1-12 (NIV)
A Living Stone and a Holy People

1So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

(I think that means don't get mad, act one way and then act another way, or curse)

2Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation--

(I think that means desire for spiritual guidance that can grow you and mature you so that you can be saved)

3if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

(I think that means that God is good and it's something that you have to experience)

4As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,

(I think that means we are all important parts that he choses)

5you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

(I think that means that we to fellowship together and be holy and that our lives can be spiritual sacrifies made holy by Jesus's sacrificing Himself to make us holy)

6For it stands in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."

(I think that means that Jesus is a cornerstone [like in a large buildings foundation for support of all the weight - it has to be perfectly level and strong and no cracks in it] that whoever believes in Jesus will not be shamed.)

7So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe,"The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"

(I think that this is referring to Jesus's time when He was rejected and there were people that questioned whether or not He was God and the Messiah, and He is the cornerstone)

8and "A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense." They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

(I think that means that those that rejected Jesus will stumble because they disobey)

9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

(I think that means God has chosen you, there was a group in the Old Testament that was the royal priesthood and because of Jesus, we can all have the access to God like those priests. When we were sinners we were in darkness but God brought us into light by forgiving our sins through Jesus's sacrifice)

10Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

(I think that means that God has called us to accept Him and His mercy)

11Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

(I think that means that God wants us to seperate ourselves by our actions of what we do and think about because it can damage your soul and emotions if you don't)

12Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

(I think that means to be an example to those that aren't believers so that they can see that you have something that they want to be like you - even if they speak against you and put you down, God is the final Judge and do what is right in God's eyes, not just what is popular)

The first thing you must understand is that this Epistle was written to Messianic Jews, not to the gentiles (see Chapt. 1, verse 1). This will give you the proper context.

Verses 1 and 2 of Chapter 2 encourage these Jews to desire the "pure milk" of the word. Milk is given to babies so they may grow; as long as they're babies, they are incapable of taking in anything else. Likewise, these Jews were new to the gospel of Jesus Christ. They needed to "feed" off the milk of His word so they could grow spiritually.

Verses 4-6 emphasizes the fact that Jesus is our spiritual foundation, our "cornerstone." This foundation was rejected by their Jewish brethren. However, these believing Jews, having accepted Jesus, are now accepted by God and are being used as "living stones" to build a Church upon the foundation that is Jesus Christ.

Verses 7 and 8 reiterate that Jews who were disobedient are rejecting Jesus; they "stumbled" upon this Rock. However, to those Jews who believe, Jesus is quite precious indeed and not a cause of stumbling.

Verses 9 and 10 explain these believing Jews are now God's true people. (This is not to imply that believing gentiles aren't also God's people. Remember John 1:10-13.)

Verse 11 emphasizes that these Born Again Jews are travelers in the world, since they are no longer part of the world. Their true home is in Heaven with Jesus.

Verse 12 encourages them to act in a fitting manner so that unbelievers will see God's love and come to believe in Jesus.

I hope this helps. Peace.

That Christians have been chosen to make up God's heavenly Kingdom (Royal Priesthood)

That Christians have become God's Chosen Nation The Israel of God, and not the fleshly nation of Israel.

And because they have accepted the chief corner stone their conduct must reflect who they are.

He's saying be as good as you can be so that even though people may curse you for your beliefs, they will still see the good that you do.
People that disobey the message will stumble.

There is only ONE GOD: the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and of all mankind. This One God, the I AM, is manifested (revealed) to mankind as FATHER (Creator), SON (Savior) (1 John 5:20), and HOLY GHOST (indwelling Spirit) (Romans 8:11). God is a Spirit (John 4:24), the Eternal One, the Creator of all things, and of all men. Thus making Him their Father (through creation) (Malachi 2:10). The LORD is the FIRST and the LAST, and beside Him there is no God (Isaiah 44:6). There was no GOD FORMED before him, neither shall there be after Him (Isaiah 43:10). Jesus is the SON of God according to the flesh (Romans 1:3). Jesus is the very God Himself according to the Spirit (Matthew 1:18-23). Jesus is the Christ (Matthew 16:16). Jesus is the creator of all things (Colossians 1:16, 17; John 1:10; Isaiah 40:2. Jesus is God with us (Matthew 1:23). Jesus is God made flesh (John 1:1-14. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). Jesus is He which was, which is, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY (Revelation 1:8; Isaiah 9:6. To this, Jesus Himself testified when He said: “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father” (John 14:7-11). Since it took shedding of blood for the remission (forgiveness) of the sins of the world (Hebrew 9:22), God as the Father, being a Spirit, had no blood to shed; so he prepared a body of flesh and blood (Hebrew 10:5), that He might fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah 43:11, “Beside ME there is no SAVIOR”. Thus, when Jesus was born into the world, he was Jehovah our Savior (that is the meaning of the name Jesus), the one God of the universe, the Lord God Almighty, born as a man. This caused the angels to sing, “For there is born this day in the city of David , a SAVIOR, which is CHRIST THE LORD” (Luke 2:11). The Holy Ghost is not the third person in the Godhead! The Holy Ghost is the Spirit, Jesus Christ coming to dwell in the hearts and lives of those who receive him. That is why, when speaking of the Spirit, Jesus said “ I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you” (John 14:16-26; Romans 8:9; 2 Corinthians 13:5). So, THERE ARE NOT THREE PERSONS IN GOD, but three manifestations of the ONE GOD. God is the Savior, and his saving name is now revealed to men as JESUS. Therefore JESUS is the name of God. SALVATION consists of deliverance from sin through the blood of Christ. This is accomplished by REPENTANCE from sin, WATER BAPTISM IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHIRST for the remission (forgiveness) of sins, and receiving the BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and the continuance of a godly life (Acts 2:26-41). Mark 12:27-34 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. 28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. Acts 20:28 Pay attention to yourselves and to the entire flock in which the Holy Spirit has placed you as bishops to be shepherds for God's church which he acquired with his own blood. Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD
