If you have a Mac it's "Shift Apple 4" and then you move the crosshatch cursor over the part of the screen you want to capture.

use prtsc for the entire desktop and alt prtsc to only capture the focused window meaning the window that you are currently working in...
this captures the image to the clipboard so you can paste it to any program that allows pasting images

on the top row of keys near the right side is a print screen button. Click that, open word; and do a paste.

hit the little button on your keyboard that says "print screen/ sys rq"
then go to something like microsoft word, and hit paste.
