I like your logic and I agree. God is a Jealous God, and Thou Shall not Covet Thy Neighbor? That is a bit contradictory. So when God states that He is a jealous God, he admits to being jealous. He in the same breath tells his people, who were created in his likeness that they should not be jealous. So He is hypocritical AND imperfect.

It is said that jealousy is one of the seven deadly sins but there is no proof that God actually said that it was.
As for the ten commandments, when God gave them to Moses he got anngry and threw it on the people. So we have no proof that what we know today as the ten commandments is really what God told moses if moses had to rewrite it from his memory.
How do we even know that there were only ten and not more.
How do we know that God ever gave Moses any commandments.
With regards to you logic, i like it. But look at this one.
God is as we were thought to be perfect right. And if we are all made in his own image and likness there and then if you put all of us together then you will get one perfect person because no two people are alike. So you will have God.
That is how i look at it.

It says he made us in his image not just like him in every aspect. Your child may be the exact image of you but the personality and other little things will be different. Yes jealousy is a sin.

May I humbly put forth that jealousy is not strictly a negative factor.
There is positive and negative jealousy ....just like it can be good to hate.
We should hate what is bad.
Same with pride. It is not a negative factor in all situations.
So, away with the negative jealousy and bring on the positive jealousy!

Galatians 5:26
Let us not become vainglorious and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another.
James 4:2
You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask.

the bible is about symbolism...i don't think it's actually saying he is jealous the same way we are...it's sayin not to worship any other god or put anything above him...do u kind of see what i mean...it is a good point, but God is perfect so we had to have somehow misinterprided it ( LoL sry...can't spell ) :]]

Jealosy is a sin. God made us in His image...that means that you are able to know what is right and what is wrong...but you do not seem to be wanting to...
