if you want it to be as easy as possible(which can still be frustratingly difficult), you'll want to buy speakers the same diameter as your stock speakers. Take off your speaker covers and measure the diameter, i'm guessing probably 6.5" for your car. You'll want to watch depth too as aftermarket speakers have a much bigger magnet than stock. But with a car that size it should't be a problem.

Take the speaker with you. Easier than trying to guess. If you know of a independant car audio shop go there as they will be more helpful rather than the students that work at halfords

measure the diameter of the speaker
that should be your measurement for speaker "size"
you also want to keep in mind the DEPTH of your current speakers, some aftermarket speakers that are better quality may have bigger magnets and such requiring them to be deeper.. and may not fit in the place you want to put them.

most decent car audio shops will have a size guide that will let you know . halfords will be able to tell you, and for a small fee may be able to fit them

If they are stock speakers, Crutchfield has a good "find what fits" selector that should help. Go here:
