Lol I don't know if this is normal, but my cat does the same thing. Whenever I turn the faucet water on he jumps up and starts playing in the water. He also lays and watches me when I do the dishes. He's even got into the shower when I'm in there. i think it's hillarious!

My one boy cat, (I have 3), LOVES the water. He likes it on his terms, though. He plays in the toilet, he walks around in the shower after the water is drained, but it's still wet. He always sticks his paws in the water dish and splashes most of the water out. He even goes so far as to sit outside of the shower when I'M in in at meow at me the whole time-- like he's mad that I'm in his space.
It is a different story when he's being a bad boy and tries to beat up his sister and I squirt him with a squirt gun. He does not like that kind of water.
Cats are funny. Gotta love them.

"Normal?" Yes. Common? No. Mine love to try to "catch" running water, or play with the bubbles in the bathtub, but they don't go *IN* it per se.
I hear that Bengals like the water though. :-)
And one of my show friends takes her cats in the shower with her when they need a bath before the show.

Some cats love it. Both of my cats get in the shower once I'm out in order to play with the water that's draining away.

Depending on the breed, some cats LOVE water. Especial Turkish Vans and Bengals.

Some cats hate water and some like it! I have 3 cats. Two of them love the water and the other one doesn't!!

Kittens are like people, they have individual likes and dislikes. My kitten likes to splash her paws around in bath water too, my gets is they want to touch the movement that they see, you know kittens, they are mesmerized by movement and sounds. Cute. :)

How cute this is.Some breeds like water most don't.Some just like it regardless of the breed.I think it's adorable,Sounds like you have yourself a unique little personality in the form of a kitten .Lucky you.

most cats don't like water but that's probably a good thing if your cat like it cause it will make it easier to bathe

My cat hates water lol
but its so funny he goes into the bathroom all by himself and goes puts his paws on the toliet seat and drinks from the toliet lol
its funny because arents dogs the ones that do that?
i have gotten some pics of him looking up when i caught him doing it
