1 year at 1250 hours. You also have to work for a larger company (50 or more employees). FMLA applies to EVERY state, but some states have additional laws that may protect you, so check around.

That will depend on the company. Most places consider maternity leave the same as any other sick leave and about 6 weeks off is typical. Lots of companies will make you wait 90 days or more before you are eligible for sick leave. Ask your boss or HR person.

I would say at least a year or two. But you should talk about it with your supervisor before hand (if you're comfortable doing that.) Some employers are completely fine with it if they know in advance, that way they can make arrangements before you leave. Others may begin looking for a replacement, especially if you just started - they may find it irresponsible of you to get pregnant so soon after starting.

Just talk to your boss, or someone in HR and find out the best route for you to take.

Good luck!

Some employer's don't offer it all..that is as PAID leave anyway. Under the Family Medical Leave Act, you can take 12 weeks off without pay no matter who you work for. They cannot fire you for it.

This will depend on what country or state/province you live in as the laws will be different.
