In the UK you must be 17 to have a provisional lisence and therefore be able to take driving lessons on the roads. However many drivinbg lesson companies such as BSM use simulators which (obviously) you don't have to be 17 to use. Many other companies let 16 year olds take lessons on private land. However as you are in London I'm guessing there isn't really that much private land which is used to teach driving on. If you need any more information I would suggest going on the DVLA website.

17 is the min age to take the test.

If you're talking about driving a car in the UK, the minimum age for a licence is 17. You can start learning before then if it's not on a public road. You need a licence to take the test. I know someone who learnt to drive at school and passed her test on her 17th birthday (show off!).

You can get a provisional licence at 16, but that only covers motorcycles of less than 50cc or an electric scooter restricted to 30 mph.

17,
probably best not to learn in london, there are people offering intensive courses in places where driving is actually possible, with hotel accomodation included in the package..
I passed my test first time many years ago after 6 X 2 hour lessons and without ever exceeding 40mph.

As far as i know, it's 17, but make sure you are really ready to take the test. I'm 25 and i only passed a month ago! You really can't expect to take the test after 20 lessons..... Good Luck!

I think it is 17 as most people are saying 17 but if you are disabled it is 16 or 1 year earlier than a able-bodied driver
