Theres a older woman, that im extremely attracted too.... we've hung out a few times but theres literally 20 yrs between us.... any way we've hung out and kissed and talked but that all thats happened to this point. Well her birthday is coming up and i just wanted your impression about what I was going to get her..... I was thinking of getting her a single red rose along with like a chocolate heart w/ a small bit taken out of it.... in the card i was going to write something along the line of..... "well @ the store they said this was the sweetest thing they had but i knew it wasn't as sweet as you lips.... Happy Birthday" ...... now is that lame, cute or what???? a little over the edge please get back... appreciated much

Sorry, but that is a bit on the lame side. Not the gift but the words...the single rose, with a chocolate heart with a bite taken out is supposed to be symbolic...but why not say, "It's only fair that I take a little piece of your heart because you already have a piece of mine." Corny, maybe but she'll think it's sweet...i would.

That is a sweet idea, but I don't get the part of the chocolate heart w/ a small bit taken out of it??? I would stick to just a card. Keep it simple inside. I wouldn't encourage the relationship to deepen, there is too much risk of heartbreak shortly down the road. She is old enough to be your mother! Should the day come she needs to be in a nursing home, you will be out playing tennis. It's probably wonderfully romantic and all right now, but think of the long run. Good luck with what ever you decide. There is nothing better than unconditional love between two people. I was just trying to help you think outside the box.

It's cute. You might want to make it a bouquet, though, if you are trying to seriously establish your interest in her. She is no doubt aware that your age disparity may also go hand in hand with a financial disparity, and the single rose, while charming, is going to make her very conscious of it.

I'm not suggesting that she either expects or wants you to spend a lot of money on her. But the single rose, while historically romantic when found on one's pillow, is also historically cost-effective, and will make her think about your age difference at a time when you probably don't want her to think about it too much.

You can get her a nice but not terribly expensive bouquet, and include 3 or 4 roses in it if the rose's symbolism is important to you. The card idea is ok, possibly a bit much, but if it's a reflection of your feelings she will appreciate it as such.

A suggestion for perhaps a bit more refined card might be, " Our time together is sweeter to me than you know; I hope we will spend even more together in the coming year. Happy Birthday."

Good luck!

I think its original and cute but if shes older she may think its lame... Your taking a risk with this idea so go for broke or go safe. Have you noticed if she laugs at corney things or does she snub them? If she laughs at the little things in life this may be a hit! If not go with something else....

No offence but that whole lips thing sounds like you're 15 years old. I'm not sure what to do for her birthday, just do what ever you think she will like or just show her how much you love her ^.^

Wish you luck =D

I love your idea. How about rephrasing the card so that it reads:

The store tells me that this is the sweetest thing they have....but I know better....Happy Birthday, Sweetie

If you are underage, run away from this person. If not, and this relationship is consentual, your idea is a good one. Go for it!! You sound very sweet and she'll probably appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I am 43 and if I got something like that, while I would be flattered.....I would chalk it up to age because I think I would be embarrassed to share with anyone that I got that.
