im getting an upper back tattoo , its a text tattoo about 15 and a half cm long. so i wanted to get it in the middle of my back , but not too far down, but my shoulder bones sort of show all the time becos i only have a small body frame. would that mean that i cant have it done in the middle and would have to have it done just below the neck, or underneath the shoulder bones, even tho i dont wanna go that tho. and i cant think of anywhere else i would want a tattoo. so my question is ; is it possible to have a tattoo in the middle of the back , even if some of the text has to be on the bone part ? also with those types of tattoos , if you move your arms back , does it destort the tattoo until you move your arms back to normal ? thanks heaps for your answers

Talk to your tattoo artist. He will help with all your questions and he will make sure that it will not be distorted. Make sure you're going to reputable tattoo artist. If he's any good, he will be very honest with you and give you all the information. This is his job and his work. The best artists realize that if your not happy than you will not give him a good recommendation which could effect his business.

Word of caution though, I have several tattoos in various locations. If he says it's OK, just know that tattooing on the bone, especially the outlining is a bit more painful.

Good luck!!

You can get a tattoo anywhere you want. I even have my elbows done (ouch!) . But usually the more boney the spot the more painful the tattoo, but it's worth it if it is a design you really like.

Tattoos done on body areas, like the back, hurt more. But not that much more. I have one on my back and one on my hip bone and I kinda regret the back one. It is too common now. But the hip one rocks. I reccommend getting one there.

You might want to consider putting it on your lower back. But I wouldn't put it in the middle of your back, I would keep it upper part. You could consider high neck shirts for work, if thats the problem.

Any tatooing done toward the middle of the body is much more painful. Most of the guys I know refer to tatooes on a female's back as a "tramp stamp."

I think you should get "idiot" tattooed across your forehead for getting a tattoo in the first place.
