Just like to say thankyou for your fair remarks.
Atleast someone still have a heart, I was getting disappointed in the Christian community for their ignorance. As you may see, there is much ignorance out there, and many "mormon expert" out there to "entertain" us.
We LDS are not perfect in anyway, but atleast we try to live our gospel and respect others belief. Our Prophet specifically ask us to be kind, especially to those with a different belief. And any LDS acted with ill manners is not a true LDS.
Thankyou again.

to a point you are correct. I have had some conversations with LDS believers and the conversation usually shuts down when they want me to read their material but refuse to listen to mine- when it comes down to the question of who is Jesus and what is the Biblical foundation for what they believe, they have no answers- so the conversation can go no farther. Same with JW, except, they tend to debate and show the scriptures just a little bit longer but when it comes to the hard questions, scriptures that cannot be denied, 'have a nice day!"
You are right though, at no point should anyone sharing their faith become confrontational or argumentative. If I am sharing and someone has no interest in hearing it then conversation over. If they desire to debate (NOT argue) and present their case, I will listen and give them the attention and respect that I desire when presenting mine- this is good because we can both learn IF we are willing to show the other proper respect- it does not mean I have ot lower my standards or change my beliefs, I just gain a better understanding and more compassion for the person and where they are coming from. Rebellion and personal attacks should never enter the conversation, regardless if it is a debate over religion or your favorite television show, it does not get anyone anywhere and it shows a lack of maturity.
I think there is a huge misconception about religin being the cause of this type of behavior- those that behave like this are likely to argue and behave immaturely over the most trivial things, it is not so much a religion issue as it is a prideful personality issue.
It is only useful to discuss these things with those that are interested in hearing and always keeping a healthy level of respect for the hearer

I'm happy to hear that you've had good experiences with the LDS. Unfortunately, there are a few LDS that are too pushy and give the rest a bad reputation. But, I think you're right about the majority.
I think people can learn from all religions. For example, I admire how the Amish handled the situation with the school shootings recently. They forgave the shooter and some attended his funeral.

I couldn't agree with you more. People are so afraid that we actually might be right, they must constantly try to find falsehoods which are never more than rumors and misinterpretation...
I do not understand how LDS could be viewed by others as such an "evil" religion: We are taught love, compassion, charity, Christ-like attributes, high moral and family values, eternal families....how could that be considered evil by anyone?

As an LDS person myself, I must admit there are handful of members that don't quite get that, but I'm delighted to hear the ones you know do.
best wishes

Believe what you desire to believe. In LDS Satan and Jesus are brothers, and have the same mother. If you are a good Mormon man you can get to be God of your own world. If you are a good enough Mormon wife, and your husband really thinks highly of you, then he can call you out of the grave and you can be eternally pregnant having spirit babies forever. However if you are not good enough for your husband-he will leave you in the grave to rot.
Yeah-that's real Christ-like.
Believe it if you want.

There is something very fishy about this post. Tell me poster do you think that Mormons believe it is o.k. to lie if the end justifies the means? Do you think they might use Scripture to prove this disposition? Such as when Abraham said that his wife Sarah, was actually his sister.

The reason they keep quiet is probably that the whole religion is just so laughable, the book of Mormon buried in a field (in America!) seen only by one man, and all the rest of that nonsense........ sheesh.

I used to be LDS. As with most religions, they believe they are right. Does that make them right? If religious fervor was an accurate gauge, who would win? Thanks, but no thanks.

I think you are wrong.
it's right up there with learning how to fail school, learning how to go the wrong way and learning how to wreck your car!
some things are better NOT learned!
