I usually do. However, somewhere around half of the people here do not want a serious answer - they want just more "hurray for our side" cheering for their religious beliefs.

I notice that there are quite a lot of religious fundamentalists here. They answer sincerely, if nothing else. However, I have often found their answers on evolutionary questions to be rather lacking in objectivity and real information.

There is no question that people answer questions seriously here. Whether or not they're right or not, is another matter altogether.

Oh yes. In fact I, as a general rule, will only answer a question if I can provide an intelligent answer. Likewise, the question being asked has to be an intelligent one. I don't like to waste my time with any inane or overly loaded questions and/or answers. Plus, stupid questions/answers can get you violation notices.

I could repeat exactly what "Liz" said. I try to always answer a question the way I would like to have it answered if I was the one who had asked. I don't appreciate it when I get rude and uneducated answers with terrible spelling and punctuation. And if I don't feel I am knowledgeable or informed enough to answer correctly and honestly, I don't!

I try to take every question I read seriously. Some times I feel many people give smart *** answers, I don't think one asks to receive something like that.

Depends on your definition of important.

I try and answer serious questions seriously. Most of the question posted, in my opinion, are not serious.

if you ask a serious question then you will get genuine answers.
Some do not know so write something stupid that is clever to them , or funny ( yeh ). Others will attempt to put forward their own views and agendas. Keep the salt handy taking withe the answers as recquired !

I try to, but there seems to be more people here just trying to rack up points for whatever reason so they put one word answers or babble on.

If you ask a serious question, the majority of those who answer will do so in a thoughtful, educated and sincere manner.
