I have heard the same thing, also shelters are hesitant to adopt out black cats around Halloween. It's terrible that some people are cruel enough to shoot cats just for kicks. I would keep ANY cat indoors nowadays. My Tika is an indoor cat, and she likes it just fine.

I've never heard of that. I would, however, keep my cats in on halloween. You never know what people are going to do on nights like that, and I think better safe than sorry.

Some people are just sick like that. I guess it could be tied to Halloween, people trying to ward off curses or cast spells or some silly mess. Many people don't understand how cruel it is to kill an innocent animal, or to rob someone of a beloved pet- they're just interested in causing trouble. Keep your kitty indoors, at least for this one night, if you're worried. Good luck!

I guess really mean people do do that. Keep your cat safe inside your home. I cannot imagine what kind of sick person would shoot a cat or any other animal.

I have always had Black cats, and my two girls go outside every-once in a while, they wander around and when the kids and I go for walks they follow us. Never have had a problem, I think it is just a rumor, you can get in big trouble for animal cruelty! Besides it is the season for Black cats.

I guess it could be true, there's a lot of a**holes out there. Its one of the reasons I had adopted my beloved Blackie on mischief night many years ago, I was afraid he'd get hurt. Just be sure your cat is indoors and he'll be fine.

I've never heard of this one, but I can believe that people would do it. Keep your cat inside if you are worried.
