Well, you could be honest and tell him that he's not the person you thought he was and you don't feel a connection anymore. Although that sounds kind of corny... it's true right?

ooh lawdy,
This is a tough one. There were many times I wanted to break up with the men I have dated, but it was difficult making that first move. I think in a lot of relationships, people don't want to be accused of breaking off the relationship. I hope this guy is not the kind of jerk that if you do try to break up with him, that he becomes physically obsessive with you. It would be nice to know what kind of things he did to you that made him be a jerk. Have you have boyfriends in the past? If so, how have those relationships ended? To be honest, the guys I have dated long term in the past, have not been jerks. Therefore, to me it would be a lot harder to break up with them, because there is not really a good reason why. Another thing to look at is, is the guy a jerk in personality, but is he good in bed. I think a lot of girls keep guys because of that. If he is a real man, then he should be able to handle straight up rejection. Have you tried breaking up with him already? If so, how did he react? Hopefully if you tell him "Look I don't want to date you any more, or I don't think we should see each other any more" then maybe he would get a clue. You could try to avoid him. work more, join other groups, get help from your friends and and his friends that know him. Hopefully they can help the two of you stay a part.

Listen to the old song..."Fifty ways to leave your lover." The lines in the song have the ring of truth...just drop off the key Lee & set yourself free, make a new plan Stan, etc. Do you really need advise as to how to walk away from someone...just do it! Go your seperate ways...no one saids you have to discuss it with him at length. You don't have to continue to accept his calls, answer e-mails, or even converse. Good Luck.

Just Do It. If he's a jerk, then it shouldn't be a problem.

If you don't want to go out with him anymore then have a friend or someone go and dump him. Or just go up to him and say you are over him.
