I don't believe in God, going to church or the Bible.
Why don't I believe in the Bible?
1. The Bible was written by barbarians in a barbarous, coarse and vulgar age. Robert Green Ingersoll
2. You believe in a book that has talking animals, wizards, witches, demons, sticks turning into snakes, food falling from the sky, people walking on water, and all sorts of magical, absurd and primitive stories, and you say that we are the ones that need help? Dan Barker, former Christian minister, Losing Faith in Faith

Dear lady blue,
Many people will attest that they "believe in God." or they "believe in Jesus Christ." But that does not mean that they have been redeemed (saved). Remember, the devils believe and tremble (devils cannot be saved). Also if you recall in Scripture, the Lord tells us that "some believed for awhile and then fell away." If you look up "believe" in the concordance and examine ALL the Scriptures with that word, you will find that "believe" is not a synonym for salvation. Please read 1 John 2:3, 4 or Psalms 119. You will get an understanding of the "new resurrected soul" a saved person receives after he/she has been saved.
Oh, in response to your second question about going to church--the church age ended in 1988. Satan is now ruling in all the local churches (2 Thessalonians 2). There is absolutely no possibility of salvation in the churches because the Holy Spirit is not present to apply the word of God. That is why the Lord tells the saints or His sheep to flee the churches because they have become Babylon (Revelation 18;4; Matthew 24:15, 16; Revelation 11:8).

First, I am shocked at how many people either hate God or don't believe in some form of higher power. Anyway, I do believe in God and the Bible. I believe in going to church, however, I do not agree with some of the traditions, practices, and doctrines of most churches. Excepting and condoning known pagan traditions into a church just because society says it is exceptable is just plain wrong.

Because churches are corrupt in the sense that their bottom line is NOT saving souls but gathering as much $ as they can. I grew up in the catholic church and out of a 45 minute mass only 5 minutes was actually devoted to the bible and the rest was all ritual. And the bible says something in the new test. about NOT worshipping using ritual which I consider the mass to be. It really upsets me that everyone is praying to Jesus but not the Father who is the TRUE & ONLY GOD!!!!!! Also, I heard too many stories about how the stories in the bible have been distorted over the years so who really knows how accurate it is? I prefer to think of the bible as guidelines, rather than anything actually set in stone.

I believe in GOD and in the bible. However, one must be careful going to church. You can hold church in your home for your family. Most churches out there do not preach from the bible and most of your pastors do not practice what they preach..nor does their congregation. The bible does make sense when you actually read it from beginning to end. Also, we are following right along with what it says is going to happen. GOD bless everyone and I pray all people will seek GOD out and finally realize that GOD is the only way.

so many choices and so many views on religion. How do you know who is right and wrong, or is it they are all right in the basic belief and the minor details are what have been skewed over the years. Even the bible has been edited throughout the years by kings that didnt agree with things. If you really study the reformation you will see that organized religion is a business. That is why I think that by living your life to the best of your ability to better yourself and your society is why you are given the gift of life which is all that is really asked of you.

I believe in god, not so much as being a man in the clouds who controls our destiny, but more so as a force that allows us to be more god like. THe word god to me just implies something that is meant to comprehended with the heart and not the mind. God is the inifite possibility of what man strives to achieve. As far as the bible goes I do not base my faith on what is really a book of poems with metaphorical meanings for the author(the prophets) and the reader(man) Poetry is beautiful but it's meaning cannot be defined as being "the one, and ulimate truth for all to agree" so therefore it is yet both true and false. I believe that god is within and everywhere, it is to feel something that your hands cannot touch, that is god, and the bible, and faith.
I wish you well

Count me in. I am a very open minded person but i feel in my heart there is a higher power. In the same instance i don't feel that the Jews are better than the Christians or the Muslims better that the Witch Dr.. as long as you stay true to yourself and others. No, I don't believe in the bible it was written by men that chose what to put in and what to take out. One of the things that they took out could be meaningful to me but not mean anything to someone else. Along with the fact that if you are going to learn the true meaning of something you need to learn it in the language it was written in not the language you speak. you lose a lot in translations.
