A three day getaway to celebrate birthday in January?

I turn 21 in Mid january and my husband and I are looking for something inexpensive but memorable. NO VEGAS! We only have about 3-4 days to getaway so we want something close to home in Los Angeles, any ideas?

Why not take a drive to Romantic Santa Barbara, there is plenty to see and do. There's Solvang which is really nice get a hotel and do some wine tasting. My partner and I did that late last year it was lots of fun.

How about Catalina? It is fantastic and romantic and should not be very crowded at this time of year. The atmosphere is dreamy.
