You don't always gain weight when you go on the pill, some people do, some people don't, with that in mind, coming off the pill to help lose weight may help, then again it might not, i think it would depend on whether you felt you gainned weight when you started taking it, if not then it probably wouldn't matter if you came off it or not while trying to lose 7kg :)

You dont gain much weight with the tablet pill but i think the contraceptive jag puts more weight on you. Stay on the pill as the pill probably only puts 1 or 2 pounds on you at the most. Cut down on unhealthy foods, do a bit more walking or exercise and you will lose the weight in a couple of months. Dont go mad trying to lose the weight as its only a stone or so you have to lose.

You may of gained weight when you first started the pill but after your hormones settle down again it should not affect your weight. Therefore it won't be worth stopping the pill, a good diet and exercise 3 times a week is what you need.

Hello - I think not. I came off the pill years ago for various reasons and the balloning is almost instant! No its not that bad at all, however I did put on half a stone which took longer to shift than usual, so you may run the risk of wanting to loose twice as much! I think its quicker to loose the weight whilst on the pill but then again that throws up another question about taking hormones...good luck! :)

No...the weight gain is temporary. After a few months, the weight will naturally come back off as your body adjusts to the hormones. If you still carry that weight....it's not the pill but a change in your lifestyle, eating, or metabolism.

#1 you dont get fat or gain wieght on the pill! you get water weight which u can easly get rid of with a water pill or exercise.

#2 if u stop taking the pill u have to wait a whole month to start taking it again. U cant just start to take it again when ever u want to it could hurt u. Besides if ur on the pill b/c its something your doctor wants u 2 do then don't. just exercise.

I had the same problem but when I switched to the YASMIN pills I was able to lose weight. It was formulated to help reduce the weight gain with regular birth control pills. Ask your OB about it! I love it, I lost weight and my period is much shorter

As long as the weight gain isn't a small child, i don't see anything to worry about.
