In the 1950's and 1960's it was a legitimate question. Now those were fine cars. The mid 70's through the late 80's saw both producing junk. Chevy and Ford struggled but got better throughout the 1990's. Someone most have gotten promoted or fired at Chevy because they have gone backwards fast. They have zero inspiring designs outside of the exclusive Corvette. Today the answer to your question is clearly Ford

i have to disagree with cap'n paul there. what most people don't realize is that both have fallin in the years, yes, but ford right now is in the most trouble its ever been in. they are billions of dollars more in debt then GM or Damlier-Chrysler is. ford has had more recalls then the other 2 major american car companies combined, and they aren't for something like a bad trans or over-heating problems. its wheels falling apart, engines lighting on fire, wheel bearing failing. true that in the 50's and 60's that they were at their peak, and i still would have bought a chevy then. right now, because ford dropped the GT, they don't have anything that can even remotely touch the ZO6 or the viper for that fact. i still stand by my GM product and my past i've owned. i have owned fords and currently have a 2000 Durango and a 3rd gen Trans Am. by far my GM vehicles have been the most relible and easiest to fix. Chevy all the way. to add to this. i have put a ZO6 agianst a cobra r, yes that is a very fast car but still only tops about 180 mph, were as the '06 ZO6 tops just over 200. quarters all these cars are close, with in a .01 of a second.

I'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy. It's apples and oranges... I've always been a Ford girl and my guy's always been a Chevy guy.
