In class today.. we talked about this woman who thinks that the only reason ppl get married is for "pro-creation"... what if you cant? Or you are too old... what would she think on these things?

The bible says sex is for marriage, and marriage is for sex. IT says to give yoruself to your partner, so that you wont be temped by others. theres also the whole book of song of solomons, which is basically like a cheesey sex novel. So obviously sex is for enjoying.
But its purpose is for creating life, and thats why its for married people, not teenagers or anyone looking to just feel good.
Premarital sex is wrong and leads to fatherless children and poor living standards, and tears our society apart. Not to mention spreads disease, mental issues, emotional scarring... and a slew of other issues.

Nothing is right or wrong in this world. Everything is a conditioning that has been imposed through subtle indoctrination over a long period of time.
The important point to note is that we must live in accordance and harmony with nature. The social laws and rules applicable at one period of time in history need not be relevant in another period of time. According to the mindsets and prevailing thinking of the period we have to change. That means the values remain eternal - the means to achieve them namely through customs and so on can be different. So long we keep true to these eternal aspects there is really nothing to fear.
Therefore keep an open mind, think deep and reflect constantly. Your heart will answer them intuitively and accurately if only you care to listen to it.

I love people who say gays shouldnt marry becuase marriage is about pro-creation.. I wonder why these people dont protest against old people or sterile people getting married..???
if sex wasnt meant for pleasure... it wouldnt feel good - its also for "BONDING" - lets face it if men didnt get sex from women they wouldnt stick around and put up with all the other crap...

In the animal kingdom, the only reason for sex ,is breeding. Humans have been blessed in that we are able to have sex for pleasure. If someone told you having sex for pleasure is wrong, I suggest you closely examine their credentials or at least their agenda.

Well that is just her opinion their are lots of people out their who have sex for pleasure, also to have a family but not just to have kids.

She would think that you shouldn't have sex, but I don't think that most people feel that way. I am a Christian, and I believe that sex is important to a marriage whether you want to have children or not. I don't plan to have anymore kids, but I sure would hate to think that my husband and I could never have sex again.

Sex is for pleasure in marriage only. Sex is for marriage only. God gave us the pleasure of sex for marriage. If you can have kids or not is not the point.

Ok let me ask you this. If having sex for pleasure is "wrong" then why are our bodies equipped for orgasms or why does it feel good when one has sex??? Why dont you ask her that?
Sex is meant to be pleasurable with someone you are married to. And yes it is for procreation too but its still enjoyable.

She sounds catholic to me. I'm Christian and we believe that sex is a gift from God- as long as you are married to the person and should be enjoyed for whatever reason.
