Yes. Because it's a contact disease.
My sister and a few dozen of her classmates all contracted it in Junior High within a two day time span. Given the large number of cases in such a short time, the school narrowed it down to a couple of drinking fountains. At first they suspected something in the cafeteria, but the only thing all the students had in common was the drinking fountains.

Yes. If someone coughs on your fork, bites their nails and touches your spoon then you can get Mono. Its transmitted though saliva. Just think of all of the ways a little saliva could possibly come in contact with you. You could also do a search on, "the kissing diease" to find out other ways it could be transmitted. In other words, Yes even if this was the first kiss for you both you can still get mono.

Sure- mono is known as the "kissing disease," but you can get it from anything, like drinking out of someone else's water bottle or accidentally letting your mouth touch the nozzle of a drinking fountain. It's a contact disease, so you could just be hanging out with someone who has mono, or who is just carrying mono and isn't infected himself, and you could get it.

I contracted mono from fresh vegetables served by a person with mono (I was in Mexico). There are other ways besides kissing to pass it along.

"Mono" short for mononucleosis a viral infection spread by droplets. You do NOT have to involve kissing to contract it It used to be called the kissing disease commonly found among young adults although anyone can have it. It is a mildly contagious disease so it doesn't spread wildly but is usually seen in isolated cases. Because it is a virus once you have it you are immune.

The chances are greater if one of the willing participants had it.
My son got mono from drinking out of a water fountain at school.
