My friend has it and has continual pain. What can he do about it? Right now he is on morphine and lyrica.

My mother has had m.s. for 10 years now. she is doing well. she is on medication for this. She has to give herself a shot in the leg every week. Your friend needs to see a neurologist and get further medical help. If he does not take care of himself, he will regret it.

You friend needs to see a neurologist. There are meds he should be on to help subside the expansion of the plaque.
