To be a disciple of Christ one must let go of this existence and seek the Kingdom of God. Jesus requires Love and Mercy and its application which is forgiveness. Any religion that requires you to judge others results in condemnation and is NOT what Jesus taught. Why do so many Christian denominations teach the opposite of what Jesus taught?

RJ has the answer! They dont forgive! Taking up the cross is required to be a disciple of Christ. The cross is Forgiveness. People who continue to judge/condemn do not know Christ or seek his Kingdom so I ask.....why do they call themselves Christians?

Let's say selfishness. Too many people are trying to be God followers and yet still be of this world.

first of all we forgive you of the persecution in these sentences.

To be a disciple of Christ, yes you have to lay down your life for him, which means not assuming we (christians) are not doing this.
Does this include the christian missionaries? Or those who give to and help homeless shelters? Or those who serve in prison ministries? Or those who serve in childrens ministries?--selflessly? There's more that could be mentioned, but that would take a novel.
The only ones I see not doing so are those who kill for an idealogy, because we don't believe in it, and try to force it upon us with an AK 47,or beheading, or crashing planes into skyscrapers.
Christ is a >choice<, "religion" is a man-made term to try and describe ones faith. >Relationship< is what us (christians) have with Christ. Am I sounding like a hypocrite? or trying to show grace and mercy through persecution?
Got love? Try 1 John 4: 7-21 it will help explain it better than I can.

Over six and a half million have! They are known as Jehovah's Witnesses. We all have devoted our lives to our God,Jehovah and to the doing of his will, just as his son,Jesus Christ did.We preach from door to door as instructed to do by Christ at Matt.28:19,20.And talk to others about God's Kingdom. We continually follow the pattern set by him.
The 'cross' or more correctly 'torture stake' is a symbol of
death and carrying a stake is a burden. The Christian is willing if need be to suffer,or be shamed or tortured or even put to death for being a follower of Jesus Christ.

Yes, it is very hard if you do have not received the Call but think you have.. It is also very hard if you receive the Call and He is not awake, the Night is sooo hard.. Because they have not experienced what they do to themselves and others, they do not even believe thought matters, they think Christianity has nothing to do with spirituality, because they do not know the mind, they do not know Christ is a knower of the self/

Me still a rebel witout a clue, pretty much, but close to the Kingdom of Heaven.. Somehow the Message got interpreted as He will come and save you, it will be allright. And it WILL be allright you just gotta fight like a Brave to save Him, to seek within and to clean your heart Because they think this is automatic,,.. Because certain verses are categorically ignored./ Like you WILL drink out of my cup.. And to follow Him means just what you said, but people think it means lipservice..The bible can tell you so much more then they see.. Because they do not pray for wisdom, probably because they think they have enough or something...They think they just need to be weekend-lovers.. They do not think the Law (Cause and effect) applies to them they do not even know of universal Law..They know Christ spoke of the greater mysteries, but when they hear of them they say that belongs to other religions...Blindness we suffer from blindness and are deaf.. etc all those that Christ healed we are...spiritually.. But who wants to hear that..??

I guess they like to point out sin (splinters often) in others because they do not see the beam in their own eyes,,

Some reasons..

I don't know of many Christian denominations that do. I know some religions do. Now if you are talking about those that say the Gay lifestyle is wrong and a sin it is just that. Not judging but stating a fact. If they say having premarital sex is wrong and those doing it shouldn't, thats not judging but stating a fact. Jesus loves the gay person and other sinners but not their sins. He will never tolorate sin in His Kingdom.

Laying down ones lifestyles (different than for death) potential going interior the path God has led you to pass. you will have needed to be a little one-kisser yet God replaced into guidance you someplace else for his purpose. as a result, you gave up your lifestyles, your desires and so on. to maintain on with Jesus. it rather is unquestionably a uncommon element to do through fact guy is quite a egocentric being. that's what Jesus did on the pass for you no count in case you needed him to do it or no longer. He had to be obedient to the daddy merely as we would desire to constantly be. in case you believe you have each and all the dazzling solutions in this lifestyles then stay it to the fullest. something you earn, any attractiveness you get is yours for the taking and the international to work out. yet no count in case you believe it or no longer, you would be judged for each word, deed and action. you do no longer very own your self whether you think of you do. God has a finest (his word) which you're conscious of and he will use it against your dazzling achievements performed in this international.

This should read 'Why do SOME Christians..." or most.

I like what Gandhi said.

I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

This was after the killing of men, women, and children by the so-called Christians that occupied India.

And I seem to remember something about 'love thy neighbor', which would include not killing them.

As to the reason of Why? It is difficult. Too difficult for some.

they dont want to die for Jesus, personally i wish they whould it whould make everyone else happier. what you say i hear all the time, but i also see a lot of hypocritical behavior from the same christians saying we dont do bad things to people. I just have no reason to trust christians after my christian mother threatened not to help me with my baby. There are more examples than this one, much more like i almost got fired twice because im not christian, ive been emotionally attacked by christians, and almost beaten up by street preachers.(i was at a red light, had i been walking along the road it might be a different story) no thanks man.

We are to die to the flesh and follow after the spirit. In some cases it might require us to die for our faith.

If you go to a church just teaching to word, it is dead.
If you go to a church just teaching the spirit, it is bloated.
If you go to a church who doesn't teach the salvation message it is apostate.
You need to find a well balanced church teaching the word who allows the holy spirit into the service.

We are crucified with Christ, never the less we live. Because Christ lives within us. We've died to our flesh and are alive in his spirit.

What denominations are you talking about?? I'm a Christian and I got to a missionary non denominational church and my pastor preaches what you've just said. Just because people claim to be of God doesnt mean they are.
