If he loves sports, buy two tickets for his favorite team and take him there. My ex-girlfriend got me NY Rangers tickets and I was so happy even though I didn't show it at first. We had an awesome time.

Get him a gift certificate for a place he likes to shop and also get an evening out at a nice restaurant, so that he can have great memories of your time together....
