Real quick turn-offs? When he....
Keeps going ON AND ON AND ON about himself, with a lot of puffery and BS. Everybody wants to look good, but there's limits....
Tons of suggestive/sexually oriented talk, right away. I like to flirt, but let's know each other a little better, OK?
Sloppy table manners....a sloppy drunk....more willing to hang out on his cell phone or electronic doodad than with me (I'll tolerate a fast return call or page if you're on-call, but make it snappy, please).
And when there's potential?---when he....
Looks at me/at what I'm doing, and shows honest curious interest, and asks questions....
Laughs, and who can talk and share sensible information on a range of topics (love smart men, who can carry out WONDERFUL conversations! who wants to spend ages with a nitwit, talking about nothings?)

Turn offs: Coming on too strong; Drinking too much; Cussing too much; Being egotistical; Acting insecure and/or needy; Just recently broke out of a long term relationship; Too many past girlfriends; Bad temper and/or depressing mood; Hyper; Not making sure I feel like a treasure; etc...
Turn ons: Wanting to share the opportunity to get to know each other rather than making sexual inuendos; Just a tiny bit of showing of affection sprinkled here and there; Respect; Self respect; Independence; Similar sense of humor; Similar beliefs and morals and values; Even temper; Feeling treasured; etc...

If he talks about himself the whole time and doesn't show much interest in what you have to say. That means he's too self absorbed and sets the precedent for any potential relationship. He will always think more of himself than he does of you.

I'm instantly turned off If I can tell he didn't even take the time to look ok.
Then, I know right away I'm wasteing my time, if he can't keep eye contact and is checking out other ladies on our date.
I know he's not the one when he continues to let me buy the drinks.

every single girl is nervous on the first date. the exchanging of i am's is natural but the turning point is when he does all the talking without even asking in return. that's a little turn off for me.

the first kiss. I can always tell right away by the first kiss if it's going to work out or not.

If the guy opens doors and pulls out chairs for me, he's out. I can handle a chair and a door.

if a guy is overly funny that clues me in that he is self conscious and probably doesnt have a lot of self esteem. Thats one of my clues. No one thing is a deal-breaker. little things all together are.
