tylenol makes a multi symptom cold medicine that seems to help. also, try a warm bath with a vapor bath (johnson & johnson makes a good one)

Put the child on liquids including fruit juices minus milk. A few drops of eucalyptus oil may be applied to the chest and rubbed mildly. Don't push the child into the pool of antibiotics unless a paediatrician is consulted.

Drink plenty of fluids, avoid dairy and sugar, place the child in the bathroom after you shower - the steam will help clear the throat and sinuses, try Pedialyte and Tylenol, get plenty of rest, use a humidifier, rub Vicks on their chest.

They cannot blow their noses until they are 2 or 3 years old......

Regular aspirators do not work.....
you have to get the baby vac.......available on the website or at the baby/toddler shows (that's where I purchased mine)
they use this in hospitals.......

http://babyvac.com (in the U.S.)
http://babyvac.ca (in Canada)

this helps prevent further infection like ear or sinus infections....
clears them right up.....
I love this thing!! It works! and my daughter is so much better....

for now keep your baby upright so it's easier for them to breathe........and try some Vick's.......put a layer of Vaseline then the Vick's.......unless you have Baby Vick's vapo rub......

also bathe them in the Johnson's Vapo Bath......and I believe there is cream for that too......

use a humidifier as well to moisten the air.......like Vick's Vaporizer and SALINEX too.

Hope this helps.

The worst part is how they can't breathe through their noses. You can get some saline drops at a chemist and you put a drop or two in each nostril - preferably when they're asleep. They don't like it but they can breathe through their noses afterwards. Check with your chemist.

have your child drink plenty of liquids: orange juice, soup, water, eating jello... Don't give any milk or things containing milk because that will only make his/her mucus thick and making it more difficult to lessen the cold symptoms. Also, if you can give a children's chewable Vitamin C tablet

You can't cure a cold but you can relieve it's symptoms a little. Soup is a great comfort food and so are fruit juices.
