they will trample them.

What do you think it means when the dogs will tear you or the swine will trample your pearls?

In the Bible much truth is taught in analogy form. To understand passages you often have to search the Bible to find out what the analogies are. Dogs are an analogy in the Bible to someone who will 'eat' anything. Eat is an analogy to feeding your mind. Dogs, the Bible says, will return to eating their own vomit. So when God says in the Bible to "Beware of the dogs." He is saying beware of people who will swallow anything and think there is nothing wrong with injesting into their thinking things that are vile, vicious, evil, immoral etc. God says stay away from those people because they will bring you to ruin. (tear you)
Pigs are similar, the are refered to in the Bible as creatures that will 'wallow in filth'. God says it is a waste of time to take the prescious things of God (Pearls) and throw them to filthy (Immoral) people because they will just turn on you.

When people are angry with you and you try to be reasonable and offer a good solution and they don't want to accept it.
In other words you are wasteing your time.
When someone wants to fight nothing you can say will change their mind they are not reasonable.
Pigs do not value pearls, so all that money is wasted.
Do dogs understand what is holy?

This has more to do with Christian witnessing. If you're out doing that activity, don't waste time arguing with negative people who are not receptive and would rather argue and debate. Go and find someone else who will honestly listen to the message. Get my drift?

They don't care about what is precious to you. If you give it to them they will just trample it under their feet and not think any better of you either.
