It doesn't hurt at all ( i have a very low threshold for pain)

It is not like a tatoo. It is a one shot deal and it is all over with.
Clamp on and then you get pierced. The ball is screwed on and it is all over with.
The person doing the piercing will tell you to take a deep breath once you have exhaled the piercing will be done.

Piercings are a quick process that's done and over with in seconds. The pain is never THAT bad, but everyone does feel pain differently, so some people's eyes will water, some people might cry. Most people just flinch a bit and its over with. If you tolerated getting cartilage pierced, your navel will be easier.

Just make sure you go to a clean and safe shop with a reputable piercer working there and be sure to keep the piercing clean with the proper aftercare.

My navel is pierced 6 times.

I guess it depends on your pain tolerence levels, I'v had ears done (6 times) eye brow, tongue, nose and belly button. I would say tongue hurt the most, nose stung (like beinghit face with tennis ball) but belly button was ok, the clamp to hold the skin was un comfortable, but not really painfull. Think in some places they will even numb the area first. Good luck!

Some say it's one of the most painful piercings you can get, but my experience, and everyone else I've asked, it really wasn't all that bad. Just a lil uncomfortable the first few days. Don't wear any clothing that could catch/snag on it right away, and keep it clean and take care of it. It IS one of the easiest piercings to get infected, even after healing if you don't keep it clean. Good luck, and take a friend, mine almost passed out while watching mine get done........and he's a guy.........lol.

do it! you already had that stuff done. i have 3 cartilege piercings. and it felt liek one of those. i even paid 5 extra bucks for numbing gel and i still felt it! my friend who got it done with me also agreed that it hurt. lol but you have a tatoo and everything! this shoudl be nothing for you. as you kown, the pain is only temporary! =D just take good care of it sea salt soaks and aftercare piercing solution. it will also hurt the the first 2 weeks (did for me anyways and you will need to wear looser shirt, no tight shirts! which can snag. ouch!)i got mine done in june so its abotu 3months old. navel piercings can take up to a year to fully heal so make sure you pick out jewelry that you can stick it out with!

piercings are totally different than tattoos. the pain is minimal depending on how good the piercer is!! as long as you look after the piercing while it is healing it will be fine..the belly button piercing can take a while to heal.

I got mine done a few years ago, and it hurt more than I thought it would, but the pain is really temporary. It's sore for a few weeks afterwards when you bend over, sit down etc. But it looks great and you should go for it!
