I don't know where you are located but I have a daycare in my home that is 24/7. If you want more info, feel free to contact me. I am licensed through the state. I would not put an ad up at the school. Some of the things that happen to children nowadays, I think that would be asking for trouble. I am a single mom and had the same issues looking for sitters so I could go out. I have found that there are not a lot of teenagers that will babysit anymore. Anywho, let me know if you are interested!

Get referrals, I would not just post fliers at the high school. Find out where in your community babysitting classes are taught, get referrals from them. Perhaps local hospital.
When my boys were infants, I took them with me most of the time. If I needed a sitter I used an agency and was able to get a mature woman. Then as my kids were older (3 and 6), I used teenage babysitters quite frequently. I was fortunate to have great teenage neighbors. Then my sons grew up and became teenage baby sitters in the neighborhood. I paid $10.00 per hour.

Well...infant. I didnt get a babysitter untill my daughter was 3. Too paranoid i guess. But highschool is not good. Not for an infant, Even if their sleeping. You need someone that has LOTS of experience and courses in babysitting. If the baby chocks do you think a 14 year old is going to know EXACTLY what to do. My toddler got babysat by family ONLY. Im not going to get a stranger to come into my home and take car of my chiild when I dont even know the person.

I would reconsider doing it through a local high school. I wouldn't trust them. Here's a great thing though. The Red Cross trains kids through a "Babysitter's Training Course." I took it when I was younger and it really helped. Not only do you learn how to watch children, you learn the Heimlich, CPR, and proper skills while in another person's home. You can call your nearest Red Cross and get a list of babysitters who have taken and passed the course. Then pick a person who like. This way you know that the person who is watching your child is prepared and has knowledge. Best of luck!

the going rate for a qualified sitter is nearly 10 dollars an hour. most kids will be happy with 5-6.
You can go into the main office and ask to tack an add up on the bulliten board. Not all schools will allow it, since its considered soliciting.
You can also try hanging fliers at the local hang outs (pizza places, wherever you see teens loitering...lol).
A better bet is your local church or youth organization.
And the best thing you can do is call, or meet, other people with children your childs age, and ask them who their sitter is, or if they know of a sitter. A lot of moms never give out their siters info (to make sure they can also use her), but they always have reserves. :)

Usually you would have to approach the office of the school to find out where you can post it. Another good option would be your church or temple or maybe your YMCA if there is one in the area?
As far as pay goes even though your son will be sleeping I wouldn't go below $10/hour. You have to remember that they are giving up their free time to help you out. Another option would be to make it a set rate for the evening.
Have fun with your hubby!

I would go to the school office and ask them if this is something they allow. If it is, they will tell you the procedure they want you to use.
When my kids were small, I gave 4 dollars an hour per child, but I believe you get what you pay for.
Also, I would definitely ask the potential sitters for recommendations and follow up with them!!!!
You may also contact your local Red Cross office. They give babysitting classes and would probably have a list of potential sitters. Plus, those kids are trained in first aid and CPR.

If there is no longer absolutely everyone on your loved ones or buddies which could watch him i could advise going for a daycare. the government has dissimilar regulations that ensure issues are set in place so your infant is secure. i grew to become into going to open a daycare and the e book of "minimum standards" is 3 inches thick. and additionally you will examine comments approximately how good the daycare is online. (you in simple terms could desire to seek via state) yet once you go away your infant with a private daycare you in simple terms could desire to bypass on hear say that they seem to be a powerful individual. and that i've got seen first hand a infant shaken to loss of existence because of the fact their fantastic outdated woman babysitter have been given pissed off whilst h does no longer provide up crying . SO please opt for the daycare.

Talk to some of your friends who have children and find out who they recommend. Or have your husband ask some of his coworkers that he trusts. I have a 4 month old and I'm very particular who I leave him with. I wouldn't, under any circumstance, just post an ad... at a high school or elsewhere. I want to know the person my son is with!

I would try to get someone older than a high schooler...do they know how to handle chocking? Would they lose patience if he cried and shake him?
I'd go to local churches and see if there is someone or a local college...or I'd have some nights in with a movie until my kid was old enough to tel me if someone was mistreating him.
I have no idea what to pay...depends on where you live and we have family around so I've only paid a sitter once....she is very responsible and her mom lives just down the street if she needed her...we paid her WAY TOO MUCH...but they don't have much money and she was going on a trip.
