It depends. Untapped kegs if kept refrigerated can last many weeks, assuming it's pasteurized beer. Unpasteurized beer has got to be refrigerated, the keg has to be positively sterile before the beer goes in, and even then it's about a 21-day shelf life. Once tapped, you don't want the keg to stick around more than 3-5 days. If you can't turn a keg over in 3-5 days you shouldn't have it on tap; takes up too much space for something you are not serving very much of.
This assumes the temperature is constant and cold, and the lines are clean. Dirty lines will shorten your lifespan as will refrigeration problems. And nitrogen-driven beer has a slightly shorter lifespan than C02-driven beer.

Seriously, it depends on the size of the keg. But, since you're talking keg as in bar equipment, etc. It sould stay fresh until it's all consumed. The keg is kept under pressure and not subjected to air, which is the reason beer goes flat.

To keep it fresh you need a CO2 tank. Although I have drank my share of day old keg beer the next morning. Beer is beer.
