Who can know how the Holy Spirit "behaves"?

Doves are birds. And being built to behave like birds, that is precisely what they do. the symbol of the Holy Spirit has long been the Dove. And that is exactly what the two have in common. This is not unlike other common symbols we are familiar with: The Eagle as the symbol for our country, the Easter Bunny, The elephant for the Republican Party, etc.
The use of the dove as a symbol of peace and that of the Holy Spirit is a way to illustrate the essence and meaning of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a dove, nor is a dove The Holy Spirit.
But I think it is a wonderful choice of symbols. Doves are beautiful peaceful creatures with gentle souls.
