By not skimping on the price of shampoo and conditioner. Go to a beauty supply store or somewhere like ULTA or Sephora. Be prepared to spend some cash, but you will get what you pay for.
I really like "Milk H20"--it runs about $15 per bottle but it really does a good job at strengthening brittle hair.

buy a water filter for your shower head. You can get them at home depot or off the internet and lots of other places. cost is about $30 and up. I bought one about three years ago, and will never be without one again. My skin and hair are so much softer now. Tap water is loaded with chlorine and other harsh elements that abuse hair and skin. I buy them for house warming gifts for my friends.

Mash an avacado and some coconut milk together and put it on your hair for an hour. Then cut the ends. This really works.

Use SunSik products. They sell these in drugstores. They really repair the hair and do not cost a lot. Highly recommended.
