Sure, it's possible, but highly unlikely. Depends on your definition of worship. I generally use the dictionary for my word meanings.
Worship -
1. reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
2. formal or ceremonious rendering of such honor and homage: They attended worship this morning.
3. adoring reverence or regard: excessive worship of business success.
4. the object of adoring reverence or regard.

And, can you not also stand in line waiting for tickets for 24 hours if you are a born again christian, a hindu, a worshiper of mohamed or someong who believes we were put here by aliens from the Andromeda Galaxy? What does this standing in line have to do with what you believe and or know about the universe?

Waiting in line for sports or concerts tickets doesn't mean you worship athletes or musicians as higher powers. They're just people like everyone else. How exactly does one worship money?

No atheists don't worship. On the contrary, Christians are in the habit, so worshipping money, sports and famous persons comes easily to them.
Seriously, atheists are, as a group, much more "moral" than religious people. That's a fact.

Worship of a god and worship of an everyday thing are two completely different things.
One is faith, the other is materialism.

Of course.
People do irrational, unthinking things, as many are unenlightened.
Worship can begin as an obsession, a compulsion. It grows like a weed in the person.
