Valence Electrons:

Hydrogen-1
Chlorine- 7

Lewis Dot Structure:

Hydrogen has on dot on the right side
Clorine has seven dots: two on the top, right, and left. And one of the bottom.

Covalent Bond:

Put your dot structure around your chlorine
Add the Hydrogen on the bottom adding its "dot" with the Chlorines

Your bond will then have eight valence electrons resulting in a complete bond.
