People are of course first attracted to looks. Thats natural. But if I was dating a guy who was a 9 and was a total jerk and a guy who was a 7 and a really nice guy then the 9 guy would turn to a 1 and the 7 to a 10, get my point?
Looks can only take a person so far. What counts in the long run is really how they treat you. Your right, the 9 guy might get more dates to start with, but does not mean he will get the better girl.

I have spent my life listening to politically correct expression such as "I dont mind looks, what matters is what the person has inside. If he or she is genuine, sincere, generous, etc" but when it comes to practise, someone with a lower 'score' when it comes to look will seldom have the chances of showing what they have inside cause they wont be approached or will be rejected in the case they approach.
Yes, I guess it has to mean more effort. Can you imagine a woman refusing the passes of someone who looked like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt or David Beckham?
Unless they would approach a woman with really bad language, their chances of success are virtually always granted.
Anyway, what is the problem if we, who are not alpha alpha plus types have to try harder? We have the wits, the manners, the intelligence and the warmth of heart to go for it :-)
I am a woman but for the sake of understanding males better, I have subscribed to an internet newsletter called "The don juan newsletter". It is very interesting as it talks about average looking guys can approach alpha alpha women (what would you call a nine on your scale?) on different and challenging ways. I mean if that is your case. If you can be satisfied with average looks, than it would be even easier. If you care for the newsletter, go to www.sosuave.com
but just like the lady said above "if I was dating a guy who was a 9 and was a total jerk and a guy who was a 7 and a really nice guy..." so we have to keep on mind that there is a need for compensation. The '9 guy' would lose to a '7 guy' only if he was a jerk. That is what you mean by having to try harder. You are right.

They will notice a dude but then... They do look for personality as well. Women do take that into consideration unlike men who are solely dictated by looks. Also, financial status is pretty important to women. If a guy is rich n is 5 on looks scale, he definitely is date material. If he has a decent personality, most wilp consider him a catch. If a guy is 9 on looks but earns below average but still has a decent personality, he may get a 6-6.5 woman. A guy who is 9 on looks n 9 on personality n 9 on money is the ultimate prince charming. Imagine bill gates+Jim carry+tom cruise all rolled into one.

I personally don't rate men (I used to, for laughs, when I was a teenager, many many many years ago, but only on guys I had absolutely no chance of ever being with) because looks, to me, are totally secondary to personality. Who a guy is on the inside is far more important than what he looks like. Plus I am really into odd-looking men - guys with facial hair or interesting features or something else like that - who would probably rate rather lowly on most women's 'scales', if women in general use rating scales for men. I like goofy men, rather than the standard 'beefcake' because they're usually more interesting to talk to.

Unfortunately some do, and even Guys rate themselves at times. If they are good looking they do have the girls falling over them.
I personally think that by rating people, guys by looks you could miss out on knowing someone who is all you could wish for.
Looks shouldnt be an issue, beauty is only skin deep.

There has been research done that shows people do rate potential partners on looks. It also showed that people tend to date people who they think would score similarly to them on looks ratings. So if you think you are a 7 out of 10 in looks then you are most likely to date someone who you think would score 6,7 or 8.

I'm a man. I don't think any woman would want a man who looks as good as them, so I believe woman rate men on a scale other than looks

in a lot of situations if you're a 7 out of 10, you receives a date who's likewise 7 out of 10... you don't want to promote your self short. in case you mess with human beings out of your league, both the uglier one receives jealous or the best searching one will get bored and seem elsewhere. that is cruel in spite of the indisputable fact that that is authentic! (this does not artwork with casual sex - typically a a million out of 10 will manage to tug a 10 out of 10, yet contained in the lengthy run, this would not in any respect workout consultation.)
