It doesn't. It describes the most feared animal of the region at the time, which today still causes more human deaths annually than any other large animal - the crocodile. Interpretation of this passage as relating to a dinosaur, something the people of the time had absolutely no knowledge of, is just the musings of an overactive imagination. There is also a description of "Behemoth", an obvious reference to the hippopotamus.

It's not in Job. It's only in the minds of Christians desperately attempting to explain the absence of dinosaurs in the bible.
There are 700 species of dinosaurs, the oldest of which is over 200 million years old. Dinosaurs come in all shapes and sizes, some meat eaters, some herbivores, some who crawled, some who walked, some who flew.

Here are a couple of passages.
Job 40:17 "Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you; He eats grass like an ox. 16 "Behold now, his strength in his loins And his power in the muscles of his belly. 17 "He bends his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are knit together. 18 "His bones are tubes of bronze; His limbs are like bars of iron. 19 "He is the first of the ways of God; Let his maker bring near his sword. 20 "Surely the mountains bring him food, And all the beasts of the field play there. 21 "Under the lotus plants he lies down, In the covert of the reeds and the marsh. 22 "The lotus plants cover him with shade; The willows of the brook surround him. 23 "If a river rages, he is not alarmed; He is confident, though the Jordan rushes to his mouth. 24 "Can anyone capture him when he is on watch, With barbs can anyone pierce his nose?
Job 41:1 "Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue with a cord? 2 "Can you put a rope in his nose Or pierce his jaw with a hook? 3 "Will he make many supplications to you, Or will he speak to you soft words? 4 "Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him for a servant forever? 5 "Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will you bind him for your maidens? 6 "Will the traders bargain over him? Will they divide him among the merchants? 7 "Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears? 8 "Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle; you will not do it again!

No. think of of it this way. think of you're status on a sea coast 2500 years in the past and observed a whale off shore. you will possibly have no sparkling indication of what the whale actual recognized like because of the fact maximum of it became under water. whether you have been on a deliver of the time you does no longer have the flexibility to be sure lots. even nevertheless you will possibly nevertheless be curious and you will possibly start to invest approximately what the remainder of the creature recognized like. With the only physique of reference being land animals, you will possibly attributes of land animals to the sea creature. human beings of the time had gaps of their information that they crammed with hypothesis or maybe mythology. that still occurs right this moment. There are each and every form of rumors and bits of flat out incorrect tips that pass on the internet that some human beings have self belief besides. Why then is it so confusing to have self belief that somebody would have been incorrect 2500 years in the past with reference to the character of an animal yet nevertheless committed that incorrect information to paper as though it have been certainty?

There is a creature called a Leviathan. It has no description beyond "Like, wow, man, it was, like, so big. Wow. Sh*t"
Sounds like a dinosaur to me. I'm convinced.
