would you still ask for things when you pray?

Good point, as the bible states over and over that prayers will be answered, not ignored, or pondered, but answered.

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up" - James 5:15

This is just one example, which can easily be proven false.

Yes. Prayer is not a lottery, neither is it like waving a magic wand. God is not obligated in any way to respond "yes" to our prayers.
If I happened to desperately want a Mercedes Benz, and couldn't get it out of my mind (which is not the case) I would feel free to pray about it, explaining to God how badly I wanted that Mercedes. I believe God's answer would be to eventually take at least the intensity of the desire away.
I have prayed about the most illegitimate things you can imagine, just so God could help me deal with my feelings.
Prayer is a conversation with a loving Father. It is not filling out an order form.

I would have to say that you cannot prove how many things happen in this life with prayer. I'm sure it would look like randome chance, but then again, I don't believe in coincidences. Have a lovely day!

you mean my prayer results for field goals and touchdowns might be only random CHANCE?!

i'll never believe you. that field goal was divinely directed, there was nothing random about it. :)

(although my team keeps losing, so what does that mean?)

I don't "ask" for things but to be in the will of the Father in whatever I do.

I have been praying for years; God doesn't listen to me. I DO know he hears me, but he doesn't listen.
