Children can suffer from halitosis a difficult to treat and often misdiagnosed condition. If you Dr and dentist are stumped it's probably halitosis. Try TheraBreath Plus Oral Spray, it is a homeopathic breath treatment. It kills the bacteria at their source and actually cures the problem. After only 1 week my sons breath is normal. I found this when my pharmacist recommended it for my older child to treat her breath after surgery. It is amazing. It has zinc and tea tree oil and really worked wonders for us, I hope it works for your daughter.
BTW-I got it at Walgreen's but CVS should carry it and I am sure your pharmacist would order it for you.

Couple of options. Have her use the new kids Listerine Agent Blue mouthwash BEFORE brushing. It will turn any plaque on her teeth blue and she will know where to brush. Flossing is also important for healthy gums and thus, fresh breath. Also, make sure that she is drinking enough water. When your mouth is dried out it tends to get smelly. Hope you find a cure!

I'm voting with the people who suggested a sinus infection, or bad tonsils and adenoids. I definitely think it should be investigated more fully, and you shouldn't just accept that "it's nothing" brush-off from the doctor. You know it's SOMETHING. Little children may be stinkers sometimes, bu they should not physically stink...

I know someone that had this problem and she had a "sour stomach" and turns out this was the intitial problem and she received medicine for this she was cured of her bad breath too. I would guess there is an underlying problem that the doctor and not the dentist needs to help with.

This cured my bad breath.

Bad breath, I had it for about 18 years, I'd already decided when I was going to end my life. I was Ms’ unpopular. I didn't think to read about it on the web until one day a person I didn't even know told me I had real bad breath and said he had it once too and told me to check online for a site called Oraltech Labs as it worked for him to cure his bad breath. I was thinking how nice he was as most people just hold their nose and walk away from me. Anyway I followed Oraltech Labs bad breath cure program and after a week I noticed my tongue started turning red and the bad taste was gone from my mouth. I started noticing people had stopped holding their nose and trying to get away from me. A few months later I bumped into that guy again. I told him I used his advice and thought it worked, he ask me to breath out in to his face while he smelt it and he's like smiling and said my breath is fresh now. I could have hugged him, I didn't tell him how I felt just a few months ago, but he and that program were a life saver to me. Don't let bad breath ruin your life like it tried to do to me. Another site I found useful is http://www.oraltechlabs.ph it shows you how to test your breath without leaving home. Best wishes!

Have her brush by dipping her toothbrush in Hydrogen
Peroxide. It heals gum conditions. Then brush with toothpaste for flavor.

How long since she had her teeth cleaned? That might be advisable.

Take her to the dentist and not the doctor. The dentist would be able to see if she has a cavity or something like that, that could cause bad breath.

My daughter had silent (she would feel no pain, so they went undetected) ear infections and everytime she got one her breath would would stink so bad...had her tonsils and adnoids removed..however still whenever she gets an ear infection the bad breath kicks in because what we are smelling is the ear infection, not necessarily bad breath

Get a second opinion. It is very cruel to neglect this problem. She could have a stomach disorder or tonsil and adenoid problems. It is also important to talk to a dentist about it.

It could be her sinuses. My 8 yr. old grandaughter has the same thing. Her breath could wilt a flower. The problem with her was her sinuses also.

it could be caused by dry mouth as in lack of saliva (which acts as a natural anti bacterial solution) in her mouth. this will promote bacterial growth in her mouth in between her brushings/rinses. the solution? drink water regularly.
