Ive got a very good friend that went overseas. I guess his internet access isnt as reliable as in America, and we use to talk every single day for hours. It sucks when I dont hear from him in a day. Three days with nothing in my inbox feels shitty. Anyway, how do I tell him to try to write more?! without sounding insecure and demanding?

tell him you really like reading his letters. give him envelopes already stamped and with your address on them and some note cards. don't expect long letters, guys just don't do that but make it easier. its not that he doesn't care or doesn't want to talk to you but its difficult to write letters...its kind of like carrying on a one sided conversation. hope it works out for you.

I see "every single day for hours" as a lot of time.

Why did he go overseas? Perhaps you are insecure because you are not there too? Are you filling your extra time in a meaningful way? Perhaps he is.

It could be that he is not tired of you, but tired of the inactivity of sitting around on the computer every day. It is not that great a way to spend your time.

Probably his Internet access isn't as good but if you are such good friends, you should be able to ask him this. And..tell him you look forward to getting emails to see what he is doing over there. But MSN every day...nope don't even suggest it.

If you feel shitty, how do you think the friend feels? Don't feel sorry for yourself, feel sorry for your friend, being overseas and away from family and friends, isn't easy! Just keep writing to him, even if he doesn't write back as often. How would you feel if you were in his shoes? Think about it!

Tell him that you miss not hearing from him, and the Internet service is not reliable, so I would appreciate it if you will write more often. that will make me feel, so much closer to you!

let them know how you feel when you get one, what it means to you.

If my friend told me that my letter made there day and something was going on i'd send more out to them.

Corny as it sounds tell them how much it means to you you iwll be suprised.
