The sell by date; if it is fruited yogurt, the fruit and added sugars will go bad long before the yogurt. Plain yogurt can even survive not being refrigerated, but you may not care for the super sour taste. Please remember that yogurt is made by adding a bacterial culture to milk and letting it do its thing under warm conditions. Keeping it cool, stabilizes the condition of the yogurt and basically puts the culture to sleep.
