Spurgeon writes, "Chance is banished from the faith of Christians, for they see the hand of God in everything."
If you were to observe this day without the concept of "chance" playing a part in your conclusions, just quietly observe and ACT instead of REact to all of your external happenings... Do you think you would better see God in all of this, your life? I do.
We often REact according to the desires of our flesh never thinking about the cause and effect of our reactions, failing to ever ACT according to God's Word or His will in our lives.
I have spent days in silence, observing and making a concious effort to ACT according to God's Word rather than REACT to the world around me according to the desires of my flesh. My eyes were opened. I have seen God's hand in everything.

I challenge you to break free from the puppet strings of the world that dictate your every move and instead, use the FREE WILL that God has blessed you with to ACT rather than react, even if silence and stillness are your actions.
Then ask God to reveal even the hem of his garment as He passes by your every moment's moment. Ask Him to reveal His face to you, to let you see His hands moving swiftly across the paths of your existence, clearing the way for new beginnings.

SILVERBIRCH: I can see that you simply REACTED and failed to OBSERVE the entirety of the question. I addressed the free-will issue.

Oh, J.P.: God has obviously given you a beautiful mind, but you are thinking far too much, making things so complex that you are missing the simplicity that God has lay before you. Just "be still and know that He is God."

YES! I see God's hand in everything- for HE is soverign! And he is in control. There are many many days I have seen God move in my life and have KNOWN it is Him working in me and around me....He draws people to him everyday.
Colossians 1:10
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
It is the moments I have known God's presence that I truly am in awe of Him- I absolutely love HIS PRESENCE!! And I absolutely love Him teaching me- guiding me- keeping me under the shadow of His wing~
Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
--Thank you Lord!!

First, you assume that anyone who isn't of your particular mind-set is responding purely by reaction, not action. Tell me, do you think Bill Gates would have been the CEO of the most profitable business if he only reacted and didn't act? He's a life long atheist.
Second, if you study physics, chemistry, biology, and neurology, you will find that there is absolutely no possible mechanism for creating free will. Everything humans do is computable, even if the computation is currently unfeasible. Free will is the ability to rise above our state and situation and do something wholely novel -- this is not possible to do.
So no, I don't see the hand of god, or any deity, in my life, because without free will, the deific hypothesis is entirely meaningless.

There is not a moment I breathe that I do not see the hand of God in my life. I honestly do not know how a non-christian person who doe snot walk with the Lord on a daily basis make it through some of the ugliness of this world. The Lord is my shepherd and will always be.

Thank you for something so beautiful. It is so good to read this. I will take time to be in life and before God again. I have got out of the hang of it and spend my days rushing and adhering to routine and although I always have time with God I get caught up in stuff.

No God(s) No miracles. Chance does happen, just roll dice. You can be in thr wrong place at the wrong time. There is nothing keeping its eye on every little sparrow except a team of cats.

It's a hallucination. If the proposition that god has a hand in your life is not refutable (and, obviously, it isn't), then it can be shown that no useful consequences derive from that proposition.

So, there is no free will, no point in self. I could throw myself out of the window now, and may fall gently to earth?
