Its not attached to the bone its a muscle which is attached to the soft tissues linning of the mouth which is attached to the upper and lower jaws by the periodontal membrane

Ultimately, it is attached by muscles. The tongue IS all muscle and the muscles attach to other muscles that then attach to bones. §

not attached to bones. its attached by small flap of skin underneath. tongue is much longer than u know. if this flap of skin is cut the tongue could be twice as long. but dont do it bc it would severely hurt

it's not attached to any bones. it's attached in the muscles in the throat. although when i use my tongue on on my wife i get a bone

Most likely some sort of muscle or tendon... just a guess, I'm far from a doctor though.
