Here is the correct answer.

The Yellow wire should have power all the time, regardless of ignition switch position. Connect directly to battery or to one of the wires in the dash that is already connected.

The Red wire should only have power when the ignition switch is on. So find a wire who's power goes on and off with your vehicle.

The Black wire is your ground and should be connected directly to the vehicle (metal) or to the ground that is already in your dash (black wire).

The Blue wire is your remote wire, the wire you run to your amp. you may have two a Blue and a Blue/White. They are both remote wires, but they have different limits as for as the amount of current that can go through them.

I've been doing installs for a some time and this is the right way to do it. Every aftermarket deck uses the same coloring system to make it easier for installers.

GND is the earth wire (black)
ACC is for the wire that is live when the ignition is on (i.e. the key is in the ACC, or accessories position)(yellow).
BATTERY is for the wire that is live at all times (red).
REMOTE will be for remote controls if your car has them.

To get the unit to work only when the ignition is on, you'll need to connect the GND, ACC and BATTERY connections.
If you don't connect the BATTERY connection, the stereo will lose its settings (Code, radio presets) every time you switch the ignition off.

If you want to be able to use it with the ignition off, you need to connect the always live feed to both the ACC and BATTERY connections.

if you got a wiring harness, everything would be easy. just wire things according to directions.
gnd is the grounding connection. this would be the negative terminal of the battery, but the entire frame of your car is grounded so just connect it accordingly.
acc is what turns on the cd player when you turn on the accessories for the car. that is, when you turn the key in the ignition just a little bit, and dont actually turn on the car, the cd player will turn on along with the lights of the car, etc
battery is for the positive terminal to the battery. there should already be wires behind there that go to the positive terminal to the battery
remote is for the remote turn on im not exactly sure but take the other guys word for it, being for antenna etc
again, if you go buy a wiring harness that fits the make model and year of your car everything is easy

gnd is the ground. it goes to the black wire that is grounded on to the frame or body of the vehicle. acc is the accessories. usually yellow i think, goes to the wire that powers all your accessories. battery is simple, power, usually red. remote is for if you have either an power antenna or if you have an amplifier for your speakers, it tells them to go up and down or to turn on and off; like a remote control for your tv.
