Twenty pounds in a month isn't too realistic.
Small portions, Lots and lots of physical activity, every day. Burn lots of calories. Drink lots of water, eat salads at least once maybe twice a day, no dressing (they are usually high fat and the diet dressings,,,,ick! Small portions of lean meat, chicken breasts and fish. No sweets, no fats, no desserts, no STARCHES. Stop all white foods, all white foods use butter, so this cuts out a lot of fat. No Rice, potatoes, pasta, white bread.
If you use any bread only use 1 slice of WHOLE GRAIN ONLY, bread. These are high GI. That means it takes more calories to digest than they contain. The lemon in water will help bump up your metabolism. As will diluted cranberry concentrate (sweeten with Splenda) 1 pint makes two gallons.
You must exercise and drink water like a maniac, but do not stop eating. Eat low calorie, small portions every 2 hours, so your body doesn't think it is starving. If you stop eating, it will say, "I'm starving I have to retain everything and you won't lose as much".
Good Luck!!

Not sure that's a heathy goal, start realisticly and go for an average of 2-3 pounds a week which would be about half your goal in a month. The only way toloose so much would be to practiclly starve or go on a liquid diet. Not good. You don't want your body to slow down metabolisim then you've another problem that just adds to weight gain.
To loose weight healthfully you need to keep eating good foods like plenty of fruit and veggies and whole grains, cut out the whites, white pasta, white bread and sugar as much as possible. Burn calories with exercise and build muscle with weight resisitance. good LUCK.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout to use as well.

Diet and exercise are the only way to go. Lots of walking, eating low fat and low carbs. I lost 50 pounds in 6 weeks staying under 1000 calories and 10 grams of fat per day, combined with 3 miles of walking. (Don't forget to drink plenty of water.) Not fun or easy but it was effective. Remember it's only for 30 days. You can do it. Good luck.

Why would you want to lose that much that soon? Are you a boxer? Are you getting married? Anyway, no matter what , that is not healthy. Your goal is not worth the health risks. You need to be smart and wise. If you truly need to lose that much, chances are you aren't either. Sorry. Not to say you can't become that. Change your life. Eat right (a subject in itself), low calorie intake, rest and exercise (another subject in itself). It is all common sense. Maybe that is why over 50% of U.S. people are over weight. My gut tells me that you are going to still try to lose that weight in a month. You are setting yourself up for failure. Good luck!

No.
The best way to lose weight is a pound at a time.
Sorry.
Cut back, eat healthy, and lose that pound a month.
