I know where you are coming from. My best friend and I loved the band They Might be Giants. It's been five years since his death, and only recently can I listen to them without getting upset. I think music ties is closely with out emotions and brings things to the surface, if that makes sense. It would be perfectly normal to have a song bring back painful associations of the funeral and your loss. Grieving takes time, and in a sense never completely goes away. Be patient with yourself.

You shouldn't turn it off.
Do you ever notice how we do so much to avoid emotion?
It's almost like you are trying to ignore your feelings for your grandpa when you refuse to listen to a song and that's not good true?
Listen to it.. feel more.. remember more.

We all outgrow certain music. This may be your own way to finish grieving. You may be ready to say Goodbye!
