Hello every body,
I wonder if you could tell me how energy saver light bulbs work.
Thanks for a million

I guess they work the same way as florescent lighting works, by exciting the atoms of the gas inside and letting the excited electrons in the outer orbital falling back to lower orbitals, the electrons emit light in several lines of the visible spectrum.

As for how they "save" energy compared with the ordinary light bulbs, the reason is twofold:

first, the ordinary light bulbs waste aa lot of energy by converting it to heat. the "energy saver"s also convert some energy into heat, but not as much.

secondly, since the energy savers only emit light in several distinct wavelengths instead of the whole spectrum, they give the illusion of white light (or yellow) by combining these wavelengths, requiring much less energy. The downside is that they tire the eye more than the ordinary bulbs.

I've save quite a bit of money. I would usually change the bulbs out in the bathroom (6 bulbs on mirror) several times a year. Since I switched to the new energy efficient bulbs, I haven't needed to replace them yet. As goes for the other bulbs in the house, they are still shining bright.

I'm not sure what makes it work. But we have the energy saving bulbs in all our fixtures, and we love it. They are a bit more expensive but you don't have to worry about changing the bulb for several years! It lights just as bright as long as you get the right wattage. And it saves money on the electrric bill

This site will expain it thoroughly:

Unfortunately energy saver, many times, can also mean that the bulb is fluorescent and harsh. They hurt my eyes.

it works on the theory of intereference of light.it has a filament which acts as an absorbent of energy hence restores the consumption of energy.it is simple re baba.

They work pretty great, but with low lighting.
