United Nations is the most useless, worst organization set up for saving the mankind and The Earth. It is a "rubber stamp" which is controlled by some kind of creatures who suck the blood from poor side of the world. Friend, with such an organizational structure, it is not possible to be the head of the United Nations!

Make everybody talk together with each other and televise the conferences so that the world can see what the disputes are *really* about and how valid all the arguments are. Stop letting countries demonize each other with rhetoric and lies, in other words. That would be the place to start.

Those who refuse to talk openly to their enemies under the auspices of the UN, such as George Dubya Bush, should be severely penalized for jeopardizing world peace by being spoilt little brats.

I personally believe that the source of all wars and hate is difference, and the rejection of differences. This is a display of ethnocentrism...and those who treat others as an inferior, due to their differences, cause hate and wars. If I were the head of the U.N., then I'd release a large sum of money for education for those 'misguided' people. This question is very opinionated

War will not be stopped by the head of the UN or the heads of any nations.
It will be stopped along will all other diseases and sufferings, when man realizes that he is ignorant and powerless, he sincerely submits his will to the Will of the One True God and abide by His biddings.

The head of the UN wouldn't have the last word regarding the magnitude of the problems you're asking. It's a vote and consensus deal with the voting nations.

there is no clear answer to this question.
It is human nature to want more and more and more, and to believe that our ideals and our beliefs are the right ones, and the only right ones.
Unless mankind changes it's spots, it is unlikely that there will ever be a time when there is no war or any kind anywhere in the world.

I'd probably be too busy making money out of backhanders and getting my family in to good jobs to be worried about anything as trivial as war and poverty.

The UN does not stop wars, merely supresses them, so they go on for longer. There is a case for just stepping back and letting them sort it out.

I would consult the Lord Jesus Christ, wait on an answer from him, and do the Biblical principle which I already know and understand. One of those things is that Israel the Jews are God's chosen people. If Israel is at peace the world will be at peace.

Hello.. :)

2 Chronicles 7

14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We could just blow ourselves up and then we wouldn't have to worry about it. If that is not an option then i suggest you look at history. These things have been around forever and they are not likely to go away ever. Its to bad, nice thought though. Peace.
