I hardly think the "world is silent"; however, given that most of Israel's neighbors want to "wipe [it] off the map" and "drive [it] into the sea", I believe Israel is justified in trying to defend itself.

I must strenuously object to the previous posters continuation of falsehoods and myths about secret Jewish organizations. There are no secret Jewish cabals controlling the world, protecting all the Jews. If there were, trust me, I wouldn't live in the crappy house I live in now. Jews are regular ordinary people just like Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and people who believe in the Norse gods.

Have we been persecuted for millenia? Yes. Have we somehow survived despite twenty centuries of Christian (primarily) hatred, belligerence, and violence? Yes. Does that make us evil? No. Lucky? Maybe. The Chosen People of God? Hell, yes!

i dont know who is silent about it, the arabs squawk and cry like little babies all the time about it. Probably the rest of the world knows that if the jews didnt have that deterent, the arabs would attack them openly again, and we would have to go in and negotiate to get the arabs more of their land back that they just lost, again.
