Suppose a woman asks a guy out. The guy offers to pay half, but she offers to pay for the entire date. He lets her pay, and says, "I'll get the next one." Is the guy in the wrong? If so, why?

If both the man and the woman want a traditional-style relationship in which the man is the one to set up and pay for dates, go for it. Nothing wrong with that at all. Otherwise, if they want a more modern relationship, then the woman should pay as well. It all comes down to what the couple wants. I think that a lot of women want to be modern but still enjoy the benefits of traditionalism. Kinda self-serving, if you ask me! But whatever....I don't have to date 'em so it isn't my problem. ; ) You could try talking to your girlfriends if they seem to regularly do this to you.

Well I think that guys and girls should take turns on paying for the date. Guy really should get the first one though. If the girl really wants to pay for it, you might as well let her. No need to get in a fight on the date over something as stupid as money is there?

But yeah, I think dated is very old fashioned and really not into modern times. Some guys are nervous about dating because they don't think they'll have enough money to date them. Man, I shudder to think about how much I've spent on dates in my lifetime. I could probably have a new car...or at least get it painted a few times!

I think it is OK especially if she earns more than him, but remember to 'get the next one'. The next date can be somewhere cheaper if the guy has a budget issue. However, I cant imagine if the woman always pay and the guy never did.

No, he is not cheap or wrong.
He offered to pay 1/2 AND said he would pay for the next one.
He is a gentleman if he follows through on his word to pay for the next date~

The guy is not cheap. After all, the woman asked HIM out. Just remember, if you offer to get the next one, you better do it. Otherwise, you become a mooch.

Nope no cheap. Actually he is doing what she wants. Sounds like she wants to be the man in the relationship so let her. Then when he decides to take her out he pays and neither feels like they got cheated.

The guy is not cheap...if the woman insists, then so be it. At least he'll pay next time. I think though, the woman is silly, and let the guy pay.

A guy should never let a girl pay 4 the meal no matter how much she begs and pleads. It's a MAN'S job to pay All of the bill!!!!

Women have equal financial capability as men. There is nothing wrong about women picking up the tab, as long as both agree to the split.

I think hes o.k....he did offer to pay half.
So being a modern guy...he will get the next one...

But! I hate it when men go 'dutch'......it shows bad manners.
I would never go out again...with any one who wanted to pay half.
Its all or nothing.
