Here's the thing:
I attend martial arts practice almost everyday. I would want to take a shower at night after practice (not right after), but my parents don't allow me. The reason is that they think it would harm my body and cause me some sickness or something. But my fellow classmates in practice say they take showers every night, even at nights after practice, and they are completely healthy.
What should i do?

My mother says that she witnessed her friend who took a bath after playing basketball a lot, and she said that he was all shivering and weakened.

Your parents unfortunately are being ridiculous.Taking a warm to hot shower after strenuous activity can in no way cause you harm.I've been a weightlifter for 22 years, studied martial arts for 7 years and a winning competitive powerlifter for USAPL since 1997.I always take a shower within half an hour to an hour after my work outs, tournement competitions and power liofting meets. It's actually potentially more harmful for your skin and body to not shower afterwords. You body is moist and warm giving bacteria their absolute best medium to grow in.
The only things I know of that are still in common practice but potentially dangerous after a work out are saunas and very hot whirl pools(jacuzzi). This can cause temporary elevated diastolic blood pressure and has been linked(although not yet proven) to many very dangerous stress disorders.
Benefits of a hot shower are to cleanse the skin, relax very tight muscles and calm your state of mind for faster and better sleep. This will not help you avoid soreness though as that is caused by microtrauma, not lactic acid as commonly thought.
Tell your parents diplomatically what I've just said to you(leave out the line that says unfortunately they are wrong).Make it an open discussion and remain calm and subordinate.

What makes your parents think that breeding bacteria on your skin is good for you?
You can shower before you go to bed. A lot of the problems your parents are seeing are caused by dehydration or not allowing your body tempurature to regulate first. Kind of the same reason you don't go out without a coat in winter if you were just sweating.

i think its fine to take a shower at night after your practice .as long as you don't step out side in the cold barefoot or with wet hair .just to avoid catching a cold .but by nature water is relaxing and your muscles after a day of martial arts need some relaxing .i would think it would be able to help you relax and ready for a long nights rest .i know how parents can be i am one but i would have a talk with them let them know how you feel after all it is your body and its only water .

You won't get sick. I used to do martial arts also, and I would take a shower directly after practice, and then later in the evening before I went to bed. I never got sick...don't worry, you'll be fine.

That is the craziest thing I ever heard!!! Your parents think you'll get sick from taking a shower.......even after sweating?!? What? I would tell them to get help because no one in there right mind should say such a thing. Showers CLEAN you. It's water! Water does not harm. Not having good hygiene can harm you, tell them that! That's something I would definitely go against my parents on.

Eh? Showering doen't harm your body and you will not get sick if you shower. I would day that you will get sick if you don't shower. Daily hygiene is really important for our health, especially when we sweat a lot (for example, when we go to the gym etc). After all, smelly people are annoying. So, I would advise you to shower daily.

you're parents are strange. they are making an issue out of 1 isolated incident. rebel and bathe! or if you would get in big trouble, get out a washcloth and soap and wash at the sink. Tell your parents that having sweat and bacteria on you can clog pores.

How old are you? I can't imagine parents not letting you shower, there is something wrong here. There is no threat of illness from taking a shower, unless it is cold out and you go out with wet hair.
